Martha W. Driver, PhD, FSA, has been a Distinguished Professor of English and Women’s and Gender Studies at Pace University in New York City for over 40 years, teaching a range of classes from History of the Book to Medieval Women. She has lectured on many subjects, including texts and images in Middle English manuscripts, French, Dutch and German influence on the production of English books, and books printed during the early Reformation, at colleges and universities in the US, Canada, Ireland, the UK, and France. 

Publications

Dr. Martha W. Driver studies medieval manuscripts and early printed books to 1550. She has written books, book chapters and articles, and reviews, and edits an annual journal (Journal of the Early Book Society). She has also written on film with medieval themes.

Professional Experience

Martha W. Driver, PhD, FSA, was recently elected to the Executive Committee of the American Trust for the British Library. She also serves on the events committee of the ATBL as well as on the board of the American Patrons for the National Library and Galleries of Scotland and as chair of the Early Book Society.
